I suppose Eliade succeeded in making the reader, or at least me, feel as close as possible to what he must have felt back then, if not towards Maitreyi, at least towards the book itself. Or maybe it is just my unconditional love for Eliade’s literature. Books with missing cover All stub articles. But do not open it if you prefer to remain elide by your reading matter.
Unfortunately these differences will divide them, they were coming from different worlds which will remain so until nowadays. It by agreement with Devi, it was not published in English untilwhen it appeared as Bengal Nights. He gets what he wants, then leaves, doing all kinds of stupid stuff because suffering for love is just so poetic and everybody just loves a sad hero It is a pedestrian version of the young summer love story that has been done thousands of times and usually far better, from Shakespeare to Trevanian.
